Soap making is a really fun craft, especially when it’s with flowers. Here’s how to make Resurrection Sunday flower soap! Have fun!

Soap-making is a really fun activity! I’ve been making soap for a few years now, and it is so much fun! And the best part is that it’s a very useful gift for people I love. So, why not make some cute flower soap for Resurrection Sunday? Here’s how to make Resurrection Sunday flower soap! Before we start, let me tell you a bit about this craft.

Why You’ll Love this Craft

I think that you’ll love this soap craft because it’s fun to make and is a great gift for Resurrection Sunday. It’s surprisingly easy to make if you know what you’re doing, and it doesn’t take a whole lot of time like other crafts that you give to people. Soap, especially flower soap, is so pretty too! It’s a bathroom decoration and a cosmetic!

Ingredients and Materials for the Flower Soap

Let’s now talk about ingredients. For this craft, you’ll need:

All of the links are the same products that I used in this craft! I love them, and they work perfectly for this craft, so I would highly recommend buying them!

How to Make Resurrection Sunday Flower Soap

Now that you know the materials, let me share how to actually make these flower soaps!

Prep

First, you want to get all of your materials together. You need to be very quick when working with soap, so this step is essential. Choose which dye and fragrance you want. I made lime, purple lavender, yellow citrus, and orange vanilla. I didn’t use color for lime and orange vanilla. Make sure your molds are ready, and cut a cube of soap base.

Try to make the cube about 3.2 oz, which is one large cube. This amount worked best for my flower soap molds, but yours may be different. You may need more. You’ll need one drop of dye and two drops of fragrance for each batch. This number works best for me!

Melting the Soap Base

Once everything is ready, melt the cube of soap base in the microwave for 12 seconds. Stir and microwave again for about 10 seconds. If the soap bubbles over, stop it immediately and stir quickly. You do not want the base to burn!

Now, soap base hardens really quickly. This means that you have no time to waste! Immediately add the dye and fragrance once it’s out of the microwave. Stir until it’s mixed well and pour into the flower molds. Each batch made three flower soaps for me. Try to make it as even as possible.

Firming Up and Storing

Next, let the soap firm up. I prefer to let the soap firm at room temperature, but you can use the fridge if you need it done quickly. I like avoiding the fridge because of condensation. Depending on your soap base and the size of your molds, you’ll have to let it set for about 15-30 minutes at room temperature. I think mine took about 20 minutes.

When the soap is firm, pop it out of the silicone mold. I used to use plastic soap molds, and it was so hard to take them out of the molds! Silicone is WAY better. Now, you can bag them up in cute cellophane bags and tie them for a gift. Make sure to keep the soap in a dry, cool place. The soap may start sweating if kept in a humid place. That means that the soap draws moisture from the air. So, store it well and enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of soap base should I use? I always use goat milk or honey soap base, but I liked using goat milk for this flower soap!

What type of dye should I use? I used Watkins food dye (affiliate link listed above in the ingredients section). I wanted to make this soap all-natural, so I used the red beet dye for lavender (the pH of the soap base changed the color of the beet dye to purple) and the yellow turmeric for citrus. You can use a dye made for soap if you’re not doing all-natural. A mica powder dye would work too. Add a pinch.

What fragrance is best? I used essential oils as a fragrance. I used citrus fresh, orange, vanilla, lavender, and lime essential oils. A chemical fragrance would work too, but I wanted this to be natural.

Why do you recommend a silicone mold? Those plastic molds that my first soap kit came with were terrible. They made removing the soap hard, would break, and were very hard to clean. Don’t ever use plastic molds. Only use silicone molds when making soap.

How do I clean up after making soap? So, you’re literally making soap, but you should still apply dish soap to the molds and your workspace.
