Do you like world history better than modern history? I took world history two years ago, and I loved it! Probably because it was different from all the American history that I was just repeating every year. World history gave me all of the new information! I think my favorite chapter was the ancient Egypt chapter. I learned so much cool stuff about ancient Egypt! Because world history is so cool, why not make a cool quiz about it?!
It’s time to go back to school (for those of us who don’t do school year-round)! This calls for a history quiz to test your knowledge! So, do you know your world history? Take this quiz to see if you’re ready to go back to school. Challenge yourself with history facts!
Here’s what we’ll cover. We’ll start with five questions about ancient civilizations, and then five questions about medieval times, the Renaissance, and exploration in America. We’ll finish it off with five questions about more recent world history. If you do know your world history and pass, you get an imaginary trip all over the world (what a great prize *sarcastic :D)! If you don’t get more than 60% of the questions right, you don’t get a fake trip all over the world :(. Let’s start (no pressure, though)!

In case you’re curious, here are some random fun facts about medieval times that I thought were cool 😎:
Cinnamon, pepper, and cloves were worth more than gold in Europe because the spices were from Asia. Land routes were controlled by the Ottoman Empire. That’s why all these explorers were trying to find sea routes to Asia!
Books were rare treasures. Printers weren’t a thing yet, so monks had to copy books. By hand. It took YEARS to make a book. And I thought handwriting class was bad.
Vikings sold narwhal tusks to medieval nobles. The Vikings pretended that the narwhal tusks were unicorn horns and sold them for a lot! Nobles thought that the “unicorn horns” had magical powers, like detecting poison.
Animals had trials in the medieval ages for damaging property. Horses, cows, and pigs could get a fine. Imagine seeing a pig in court for damaging property as if it could understand the law. People during the medieval times took property damage very seriously, even if the culprit had four legs and a snout.
At medieval dinner parties, there were sometimes pies with live birds in them!!! Let me explain. They would bake a live bird into a pie. When the pie was cut, the bird would fly away, impressing the guests. Imagine that happening at a dinner party today. I would lose my appetite.
