It’s time to start thinking about what I want to do in 2026. If you are too, then you are in the right place! Here are ten New Year’s resolution ideas for 2026. These ideas are actually doable and not boring! They are fun goals. Before we begin, let me remind you of something. If you’re like most people who go all out on January 2nd for their New Year’s resolution, you’ll likely burn out and quit by January 3rd. Instead, be consistent and remember to follow God’s perfect plan for your life. Ok, let’s dive in!
1. Reading the WHOLE Bible
This was one of my goals for 2025. I heard that you can read your whole Bible in a year if you read four chapters a day. So, I finished reading the Bible in about six months because I had a lot of extra time. I think that this is a great idea for your New Year’s resolution because it’s a fun challenge and is great for your faith. Reading the whole Bible was definitely an amazing choice I made. It helped me crush my family in Bible trivia and stay on fire for God. Read your WHOLE Bible in 2026!
2. Researching a Topic You Find Interesting
Researching a topic you like is very doable, especially since we have the internet and AI. Now, you can just ask ChatGPT anything! You don’t need a microscope, a lab coat, and eye goggles to research something you think is fascinating (unless you want to). Write a few papers about a cool animal, planet, or anything else this year. It’s a great goal for 2026!
3. Writing a Book
Writing a book is so much fun! You may think that writing is boring because of school assignments, but it’s so much fun if you choose a topic you like. For example, I wrote a book about space this summer. It’s a topic I like, so I had a lot of fun writing! Basically, choose a topic (fiction or non-fiction), write an outline about the plot (trust me on this), draft, revise, proofread (Grammarly to the rescue), and that’s it! Write a book in 2026!
4. Journaling
This is something that a lot of people start in January, but quit by February. So to avoid this, set a reminder to write every day. But, if you can’t journal every day, try every week. And if you can’t do that, try every month. Simply outline major events and ideas. I started journaling in 2025, and I have had so much fun looking back at past writings. Why not at least try journaling this year?
5. Creating a Recipe

This one is super fun and doable! As I did with my breakfast chocolate cookie recipe, just experiment until you get a good recipe. I wrote about how I created those cookies in the recipe, so you can read that too if you’re interested in adding this to your New Year’s resolution.
6. Room Makeover
Having a room makeover is a great New Year’s resolution! First, you’ll have to clean your room. Get rid of stuff you don’t need and clean. Wash your bedding, vacuum, and throw away trash. Next, buy some room decorations or make some. Plan what you want your room to look like, and buy or make some decor based on your design. You can make a cute sign or even table decor. Finally, set up the decorations and you’re done! What a great goal this is! I hope you do this one in 2026!
7. Learning to Cook Food from Different Places
Learning to cook food from different places is a goal that I’m putting on my New Year’s resolution this year! I could learn how to make European dishes or even South American dishes. I wanted to do this last year for world studies class, but I never did it. Doing things always helps me learn better. If you think that this sounds fun and would help you learn in world studies class, too, then you can also have this as one of your goals this year.
8. Finding A Signature Perfume
Finding a signature perfume (or a few) is amazing. If you can’t use chemical perfumes, try out the rose water body mist that I use (affiliate)! It’s made with real roses, not a mix of chemicals. Finding a good perfume is something that you can put on your New Year’s resolution.
9. Making a Study Space and Studying More in It

If you don’t study, this is a great goal for you. Making a study space and studying more in it is good. To create a study space, find a tidy spot where you feel productive. Make sure it has a cozy seat, a table, and no distractions. Place all your books, papers, and other things in that spot. Now, the hard part: actually studying in it. My favorite technique to get me to study is rewarding myself for it. This could mean a snack, movie, or something else fun. You got this! I hope you achieve this goal in 2026!
10. Getting a Savings Box and Investing
I saved my favorite of the ten New Year’s resolution ideas for 2026 for last. The final idea is getting a savings box and investing. For birthday money or whatever money you get, follow these steps. First, tithe because the Bible says to. Next, put about half into a savings box (Proverbs 21:20). Finally, invest however much you want. This doesn’t just mean stocks. This means anything that makes money grow. Do some research on ways that you can make money, and invest in it. This is an amazing idea for your New Year’s resolution.
That’s all of the ten New Year’s resolution ideas for 2026! I hope you got some fun, doable ideas for goals this year. Thank you for reading. That’s all. Happy New Year’s, girlies!
