Six Thanksgiving Side Dish Ideas that You Can Make

Why not help out your family by making a side dish? Here are six Thanksgiving side dish ideas that even you can make! Let’s dive in!

Thanksgiving is almost here. Isn’t that crazy? I still feel like August was a few weeks ago. Well, Thanksgiving is the time to give thanks, eat food, and cook constantly. Cooking all that food, especially if you have a big family, can be very overwhelming. Because of this, why not help out your family by making a side dish? Here are six easy Thanksgiving side dish ideas that you can make. Let’s dive in!

1. Easy Corn Side Dish

The first side dish is my easy corn side dish recipe that you can make to help your family out. I’ve never made this for Thanksgiving, because I prefer other things to cook. However, if you like SUPER easy but delicious things, this recipe would be an amazing side dish for your Thanksgiving table!

2. Mashed Potatoes

Mashed potatoes are very easy and traditional. All you need to do is peel potatoes, boil them, mash them, and mix in butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Mashed potatoes are so yummy, yet so easy and simple to make. They are a side dish that you can make for your family this Thanksgiving.

3. Easy Mac and Cheese

Next, we have mac and cheese! I’ve never had mac and cheese for Thanksgiving, but I’m sure it’s amazing! I make mac and cheese all the time, so I have to try it one day. It’s also super easy, and making it would help out so much. All you need to do is cook pasta, make a cheese sauce for the pasta, top it with cheese in a baking dish, and broil for a few minutes. This would be an amazing addition to your Thanksgiving meal.

4. Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry sauce is sweet and tart, making it a great side dish! Plus, making it from home is WAY better than store-bought. It’s just cranberries, sugar, salt, and whatever flavors you want. Homemade is so good and easy that I don’t think that I could ever eat store-bought cranberry sauce. Have a great Thanksgiving meal with your cranberry sauce!

5. Sweet Potato Casserole with Marshmallows

I love sweet potato casserole, especially with marshmallows. There are many different versions, but one has you mash the sweet potatoes, mix them with stuff, and bake them with marshmallows on top. I love it because it’s a mix of sweet potato chips (you can read more about them on my 5 underrated snacks blog post!) and roasted marshmallows. Sweet potato casserole is also very doable, so I hope you try making it this Thanksgiving!

6. Rolls (or my biscuit-bread!)

bread and butter

Finally, you can make bread rolls to help out this Thanksgiving. Rolls are delicious and go really well with turkey and cranberry sauce. I like making bread rolls, but they can be a bit complicated. If they are too complicated or time-consuming for you, don’t worry! I have another option for you!

I have an easy, 45-minute biscuit-bread recipe that anyone can follow. It’s so good, but also very quick. It would go great with your meal and with leftovers. You could make turkey, cranberry sauce sandwiches with leftover turkey, like my brother does the day after Thanksgiving!

Thank you so much for reading my six Thanksgiving side dish ideas that you can make! Tell me in the comments if you will make any of these side dishes this Thanksgiving. I hope you like this blog post. That’s all! Bye, girlies!
