Welcome to the awesome autumn granola recipe! Do you sometimes have no idea what to eat for breakfast? If so, I’ve got your back! This recipe is delicious and quick. It’s nutritious and will fuel you until lunch. All you need is an apple, honey, spices, oats, and walnuts. You can make this in a pan in about five minutes, which makes this recipe the perfect autumn breakfast.

Why I Created this Recipe

I live in an ingredient house. It’s a house with barely any processed food. We make almost all of our meals from scratch. My mom is particular about processed foods. I think she reads a lot on social media. The result? Nothing to just grab when I’m hungry. I have to make meals for myself from scratch (which is ok, because I love to cook). And that’s how this autumn granola recipe was created.

I’ve been seeing many granola recipes recently, so I decided to experiment with my own! I wanted a granola recipe for autumn that I could quickly make for breakfast. So one morning, I got a pan. I added a chopped apple, a lot of honey, some spices, and flour to a pan. Then, I added the oats. Putting flour in the granola was a HUGE mistake. I didn’t want the oats to become oatmeal because of the honey, so I added the flour. The flour just made the granola weird. It made the granola like a mix of sticky dough and a pancake. It also tasted like flour. I tossed the bad granola and tried again.

This time, I didn’t add flour. That was lowkey the best decision I made while experimenting 😅. Then, I added the other ingredients, but measured them instead of tossing them in. Another great decision. Finally, I added walnuts, which made it taste way better. This time, the ingredients turned into a lovely fall granola breakfast. I thought that it tasted like apple pie! Now, let me share some tips for making this recipe!

Tips Before You Make This Autumn Granola

Apples

My first tip is to choose a very sweet apple variety. Granny Smith apples are not recommended because they are on the sour side. Make sure to chop the apples into cubes small enough to cook properly. If you want it to taste like apple pie, you have to do this. Also, make sure that the apples are browned enough in the pan. You want them toasted.

Seasonings

Feel free to experiment with seasonings! I used cinnamon and nutmeg, but you can add whatever spices you like. Want a gingerbread granola? Replace honey with molasses and add a bit of ginger and cloves. I bet that would taste amazing!

Oats and Walnuts

My final tips are about the oats and walnuts. The oats and walnuts are the last ingredients that you add. You want them to be toasted. You’ll know they’re ready when you can smell them well. This took me about one minute.

Ok, that’s all you need to know when making this recipe. Have fun, enjoy, and have a wonderful day!

Thank you so much for reading this recipe! This autumn recipe is so delicious (if you don’t put flour in it!!!), quick, and easy. It is a great option if you live in an ingredient house like mine.
