October Bible Study Challenge: Philippians 4:6-7 Part 1

Wake up! It’s the first of the month🐮🐮🐮! Read more if you want to participate in the October Bible Study!

“Homeschooled girl shall not live on cookies alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God,” or something like that. Welcome to the October Bible Study Challenge: Philippians 4:6-7 Part 1 😏! This month, I challenge you to have a Bible study on Philippians 4:6-7. At the end of the month, we’ll share what we observed. Do you accept this challenge? If so, let’s start!

Your Mission

Your mission is to have a Bible study on Philippians 4:6-7. Grab a piece of paper and a pencil because you will need to write. The Bible study should include your observation and application (how you can apply this verse to your life). Then, write a prayer. Finally, you can share what you observed in your Bible study on October 31 if you want to.

Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Observation, Application, and Prayer:

I didn’t choose this passage just because it’s Philippians 4:6-7 😏 (although that is a fun coincidence). I picked it because Halloween is coming at the end of this month. Though cheap Sonic corn dogs are cool (Sonic runs a Halloween day special), some people’s Halloween decorations are a bit too much for me. Everywhere you go, everything is decorated with spooky spiders. The stores are selling skeleton statues that aren’t very nice to look at. The TV is also showing horror movies that it wants you to watch. Like, come on. I just want to shop at the store and watch some movies in peace without entertaining fear.

Do you know what entertaining fear means? It means making cozy rooms in our heads for fear (allowing or wanting fear to exist in our minds) by making fear seem fun. So, what does the Bible say about entertaining fear? Should we make cozy rooms in our heads for fear? Let’s write our observations, applications, and prayers!

First, write your observation on Philippians 4:6-7. What does this passage say about entertaining fear? What should you do when you are scared?

Then, write your application. How can you apply this passage to your life?

Finally, write a prayer based on your observation and application.

If you want to, you can share your observation on October 31st. That’s when I’ll share mine!

Conclusion:

Thanks for taking the time to do the October Bible Study Challenge: Philippians 4:6-7 Part 1! I can’t wait to see what you observed in this passage! See you on October 31, so you can share your observation, and I can share mine. Bye, girlies!
