Imagine an ice cream with ingredients so natural that you could eat it for breakfast without making your mom mad. That’s the challenge that I decided to tackle recently. And after a bit of researching recipes and experimenting, I have finally made a breakfast ice cream recipe! It’s so easy, quick, delicious, and doesn’t require any special equipment.

I have an ice cream recipe that requires a food processor, but it broke. Thankfully, my experimenting proved that I can make the ice cream recipe without a food processor! I turned the boring vanilla flavor of my old recipe into a chocolate-peanut butter recipe. You can check out a strawberry version I made at the bottom of this blog post. I made this new recipe often, perfecting it each time until I got the perfect measurements.

Can I use any nut butter instead? Could I use yogurt for a chocolate version without peanut butter? Of course you can use almond butter or sunbutter! And for using yogurt, you would need to add a bit of oil to replace the peanut butter. Tell me if you try it and like it!

How long can I keep this in the freezer for? I’d say you can keep it in there for a week. Make sure the bag is sealed properly so the ice cream doesn’t get a fridge taste!

What toppings can I put on this? Fruit or chopped nuts would taste amazing!

Can I make this in a blender? Yes you can! Using a blender to mix the banana, honey, peanut butter, and cocoa powder would make it even smoother.

Can I use a popcicle mold? Always use a popcicle mold if you have it.

How to eat ice cream without making your mom mad

Ingredients

  • 1 really ripe banana (if you don’t have a really ripe banana, you can add honey)
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

First, gather all the ingredients and place them on a plate.

Next, mash the banana with a fork and mix all the ingredients together until they look like chocolate cake batter. Then, pour the mixture into a resealable bag or popsicle mold if you have one. I think a popsicle mold would be better, but I don’t have one 🙂

Finally, freeze overnight. In the morning, you’ll have ice cream!

  • Two tablespoons crushed freeze-dried strawberries

Steps

Crush the freeze-dried strawberries in a resealable bag with a rolling pin until there aren’t any big chunks. Make sure you have two tablespoons. If so, put it on a plate with other ingredients. If not, crush some more.

Mix all ingredients until smooth. Put the mixture into a resealable bag or popsicle mold if you have one. Freeze overnight.
