Hey, girlies! This is how to make donuts in a donut pan!

Do you have a donut pan? I got one recently and tried this recipe. These donuts are so easy to make. You just make the batter and bake it in a donut pan. They are so cakey and soft. You can add any toppings you want, but I used glaze, chocolate, and cinnamon sugar topping. These are the perfect donuts for a donut pan. I shared them with my family, and everyone LOVED the donuts. Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 eggs plus 2 egg yolks beaten
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk (if you don’t have buttermilk, measure out 3/4 cup milk and add a dash of vinegar. Let it sit for 5 minutes before adding. You’re welcome!)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • toppings (glaze, frosting, chocolate ganache, sprinkles, or anything you like. These are YOUR donuts)

Steps

1

First, preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Gather your ingredients to make sure you have everything (you don’t want to find out that you don’t have the right ingredients AFTER you start. Trust me.) Grease your donut pan/pans. This recipe makes 12 donuts. Make sure your pan/pans can hold 12 donuts.

2

Next, spoon and level the flour. This means putting the flour into the measuring cup with a spoon and swiping the top to make it level. Sift it into a bowl and add the sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.

3

Add the butter, eggs, buttermilk (or milk-vinegar mixture), and vanilla into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix until JUST COMBINED. Do not overmix, or else the donuts may become tough (no pressure, though).

4

Then, scoop the batter into your greased donut pan/pans. Make sure that the batter is evenly distributed. Bake for 13-18 minutes or until the donuts spring back when gently poked.

5

Next, let it cool for 20 minutes. Now the fun starts! For glazed donuts, make a glaze with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. If the glaze is too runny, add more powdered sugar. Too thick? Then add milk. Dip the donuts in the glaze and let them set. For cinnamon sugar donuts, brush donuts with melted butter and dip them into a bowl of cinnamon sugar. My favorite ones were the chocolate. I just added a handful of chocolate to some glaze and microwaved it for 30 seconds. Add more glaze or chocolate until it gets to the consistency you like. DO NOT BURN THE CHOCOLATE IN THE MICROWAVE. After you put your toppings on, you can eat them! Hope you had fun!
