Is corn a summer or autumn thing? It could be a summer thing, because corn is often grilled at Fourth of July BBQs. However, it could be an autumn thing, since Indian corn is a fall decoration and cornbread is sometimes served at Thanksgiving feasts. So, is it an autumn thing? Whatever it is, you can make an easy corn side dish to help out your busy family all year round! It’s delicious and goes with almost everything! It goes really well with pork chops, steak, chicken tenders, and more! Every time I have a few packs of frozen corn in the freezer, I make this recipe as a side dish. It’s so easy and delicious! There are never any leftovers in my house when I make this. If that sounds good, try this recipe today! Let’s make it, girlies!
A Few Things To Know Before Cooking
Which Corn To Use?
You should use frozen corn for this recipe. Though canned or fresh would probably work fine, the recipe instructions are for frozen corn. You’d definitely have to change the cooking instructions. If you do use canned or fresh, tell me how it goes in the comments section down below!
How Long To Cook?
Cook until the corn is defrosted and the butter is melted. This usually takes about ten minutes, but it all depends on the pan you use and your stove. It’s not raw, so you don’t have to worry about that. Yay! Making this corn recipe is overall super quick.
How to Season?
When I make this recipe, I always use seasoning salt, garlic powder, and parsley. But there’s no right or wrong way to season food (actually, I take that back. There are many wrong ways to season food). Use whichever seasonings you like. Whether that’s onion powder or anything else you have, most seasonings taste good on this corn recipe.
Also, you may have to add more salt or extra seasonings based on what your family likes. Taste the corn to see if it needs anything more. If it does, add some more. But make sure not to add too much seasoning!
Can I Eat This Hot?
Not only should you, but it’s recommended! This corn side dish tastes WAYYYYY better warm in my opinion, but I don’t know. Your family may like cold corn better. So, I’d eat this corn side dish warm, but it’s really your choice.
Overview of how to make it:
You can make this recipe in ten minutes or less. All you have to do is heat up two packets of frozen corn in a pot on medium-high. After the corn is no longer frozen, add two tablespoons of butter. Butter and corn are so good together. Everyone knows that. After the butter is melted, you will add the fun seasonings. I added seasoning salt and parsley, but you can add garlic powder. I’ve added garlic powder to this recipe before. It is also super good! Mix the seasonings with the corn. Then, you’ll have this amazing side dish.
