”Homeschooled girl shall not live on gingerbread cookies alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God,” or something like that. It’s time for the December Bible study challenge on Isaiah 9:6, part two, where we will share our observations. If you haven’t completed part one yet, click here to do it before we share our observations. Did it? Ok, let’s dive into the Word!

Reminder of what Isaiah 9:6 Says:

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Reminder of the Three Main Questions:

Here are the three Main Questions that you should have answered in your Bible study observation. Make sure that you answered them when you had your Bible study.

My Observation

It’s finally New Year’s Eve! The year just flew by. It’s so crazy! Christmas was recently. We celebrated Jesus’s birth a few days ago. I got some cool gifts. Tell me if you got any cool gifts in the comments! All of those presents and candy canes are fun, but the real meaning of Christmas is Jesus.

The Bible verse that our Bible study was on was Isaiah 9:6. This verse is a prophecy of Jesus coming into the world so that we can be saved. Now, it’s time to share my answers to all three Main Questions.

Isaiah 9:6 says that the Son was given. What does that prove about God’s love, and how does this relate to Christmas?

Isaiah 9:6 says that God gave us His Son. This obviously proves that God loves us so much! I observe that this is what Christmas is all about: God’s love for us. The best Christmas gift ever was sent because of God’s love. Jesus would’ve never been born in that manger if God didn’t love us!

What do the names given to Jesus prove about His character?

The names that Isaiah 9:6 gives to Jesus are Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. These names sound so important and powerful. This proves that Jesus is powerful, mighty, and everlasting. He brings peace and also lasts forever. He was born as a baby, but He has all the power. The government rests on His shoulders.

Why is Christmas important?

Christmas is important because it reminds us of God’s love and the powerful, wonderful Son being born. Additionally, Jesus’ birth was necessary to God’s plan to save us from our sins through Jesus dying and rising. All of this makes Christmas very important.

Conclusion

That’s all for my observation for the December Bible study challenge on Isaiah 9:6, part two! So, it’s time to share your observation in the comments section below now. I can’t wait to hear from you! Ok, done? Thanks for sharing your observation in the comments! That’s all! I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year, girlies!
