It’s time to go back to school. Other kids are at school, which makes a noticeable difference at stores. Have you ever had a funny back-to-school moment as a homeschooler? Did you wonder if other homeschoolers have experienced that same moment? Did you share that experience with other homeschoolers? I have had those moments, which is why I made this post.
Here are 5 funny and relatable back-to-school moments for homeschoolers. I’ve experienced these moments A LOT of times. Many other people I know have also experienced these moments! Let’s dive in to see if you can relate to it too! Comment down below if you can relate to any of these.
1. Emptiness. Everywhere.
When school starts, you can tell because of the empty stores, parks, and other places. No other kids your age are outside anymore. Then, you feel happy because you’re NOT in school 🙂
2. “Let’s go back-to-school shopping! Wait, I’m homeschooled.”
I used to go to a private school. We had long lists of supplies we had to get every year. Then, I started homeschooling. Every year, I still go back-to-school shopping just because. *goes back-to-school shopping even though I have pencils from 3rd grade.
3. That feeling no one can describe when you come home from a fun event, while other kids walk home from school, or a school bus passes by.
Pure joy.
4. Seeing other kids complain about school
“No big deal for me! I’m homeschooled!” you say. “Lucky!” they say
5. Going to a regular doctor’s appointment in the middle of the day, and people think something’s terribly wrong with you because you had to “miss school”.
“No, she’s just homeschooled,” your parent boasts.
Being homeschooled is pretty great. Two-hour-long school days, flexibility, and the comfort of being home are amazing. It can get lonely, but I like having a flexible schedule.
